Job Description

This position is within the GSG Advanced Analytics team as part of the GSG MIS COE. The team works across multiple Data Science/Machine Learning projects across the GSG organization, focusing on various areas of servicing. The role involves conceptualizing business problems into data science solutions, applying new techniques and algorithms, and delivering significant improvements over the status quo to generate business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the overall business perspective and conceptualize business problems into Data Science/ML roadmaps.
• Engage in research to apply new techniques and algorithms for process improvements.
• Conduct rigorous testing of algorithms to deliver significant working leverage over existing solutions.
• Write, debug, and compile code in multiple Machine Learning environments with a strong understanding of the Python stack.
• Focus on problem-solving through Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• Apply performance testing and validation frameworks for machine learning models.
• Deploy mathematical foundations of cutting-edge NLP techniques on varied data sources.
• Design scalable solutions to derive insights from terabyte-sized data.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Python and its libraries (pandas, numpy, nltk, statsmodels, gensim, pyspark, spacy, transformers).
• Experience with machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, supervised/unsupervised learning, and deep learning.
• Strong data wrangling and visualization skills.
• Hands-on knowledge of SQL.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: Experience with Transformers, LSTMs, CNNs, and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Preferred: Deep knowledge of statistics, mathematics, linear algebra, Bayesian statistics, and group theory.
• Preferred: Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
