Job Description

PayPal is hiring for the position of Data Analyst 2 in Bangalore & Chennai, India. The role involves complete ownership and end-to-end management of a customer segment or a part of the portfolio, focusing on management of loss and experience, with in-depth knowledge and expertise of the domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Data analysis and data-backed decisions, monitoring and forecasting.
• Designing and implementing risk strategies.
• Collaborating with other data scientists and technology teams on the right features and models.
• Identifying glitches in processes and tools and developing solutions to overcome general issues with minimal supervision.
• Learning in-depth analysis of alternatives and applying specialized knowledge.
• Seeking improvements within defined tasks and executing improvement ideas from supervisors.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to build quick estimates and execute complex analyses.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with large datasets.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Enthusiasm for data-driven problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel or statistical software.
• “Can-do” attitude, team player, and ability to work well under pressure.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on strategy development experience in products like Consumer or SMB credit cards portfolio management, deposit risk, payment risk.
• Experience in supporting large global financial institutions in the US or EU, or worked for local tier-one banks like HDFC or foreign banks, or other payment processors.
